Notice of intended marriage, the first step for Foreign Marriage under Foreign Marriage Act, 1969



The Parties (i.e. the intended Husband and Wife) willing to marry as per the provisions of Foreign Marriage Act, 1969 (the Foreign Marriage), has to give notice thereof in writing in the form specified in the First Schedule to the Marriage Officer.

Marriage Officer will be Marriage Officer of the district in which at lease one of the parties to the marriage has resided for a period of thirty days immediately before giving such notice. Such notice shall state that the party has so resided.
